About Us

We began our lives with Ridgebacks in 1983 when we acquired our first pup Fred from Kathy and Beach Main of Raintree in Fullerton, CA. Fred moved into his show career with Cindy Lane and we soon added Chani to our family. Chani - also bred by Raintree - became our foundation bitch. She produced top winning Ridgebacks both in conformation and performance events and earned an ROM title as a result.

Our breeding program is limited and very selective. Always with the intent to improve the breed, pedigrees are thoroughly analyzed, health factors are investigated and performance ability is considered before any breeding is undertaken. Puppies are whelped and raised in our house and, at the appropriate time, exposed to daily household activities. Puppy placement is perhaps the most important aspect of producing a litter. We encourage interested parties to visit us and our Ridgebacks at any time. This serves the dual purpose of introducing “first-timers” to Ridgebacks and us to prospective new puppy owners. The bottom line is that we want our puppy placements to be the best for both puppy and buyer and to last for the lifetime of the dog.

Puppies and adult Ridgebacks in our household are raised with Natural Rearing methods. A raw food diet is fed from the time of weaning. These methods have resulted in a family of Ridgebacks that visit the vet only for specific health screenings for breeding purposes and the mandatory rabies vaccine.

We have been members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the US and Orange Coast Rhodesian Ridgeback Club since we became involved with the breed. We are also members of the Northwest Rhodesian Ridgeback Club since our move to Eastern Washington in 2010.

Our Ridgebacks are continuously the subject of my camera. Over the years many great photos have accumulated. They are shared with you here on this page.
